LCI Productions has secured a three-year contract to deliver Port Lympne Safari Park’s annual seasonal light trail, Port Lympne Illuminated. Following the success of last year’s debut, LCI will return to design and deliver an enhanced and expanded trail experience.
In 2025, LCI transformed the park’s 600-acre landscape into a mesmerising nighttime spectacle, welcoming nearly 70,000 visitors between 28 November 2025 and 3 January 2026.
This year, the trail will introduce a series of brand-new themed zones and installations alongside original IP developed specifically for the experience.
Guests will step into an enchanted winter world, where hologram fairies and festive elves guide the journey through a rich, immersive landscape.
Across the trail, original IP is combined with LED Displays, narrative storytelling, interactive installations, lighting and water effects, and holographic elements to create a seamless blend of physical and digital experiences.
New areas include enchanted hidden animal kingdoms, where life-sized 3D animals are brought to life through holographic techniques and atmospheric lighting, alongside a technicolour rainbow LED tunnel and immersive installations within the Elf Forest. Guests will encounter hologram elves, luminescent animal sculptures and dynamic beacon pathways that guide movement through the space.
A fairytale canopy of lanterns, where more than 500 lanterns illuminate the tree canopy to create a striking illuminated pathway through the park, as well as the high-energy laser disco in the Orangery, featuring holofan technology and original character-driven content. The experience will conclude with a water show spectacular featuring dancing fountains, moving lights and a new music track and flame jets.
The trail is further enhanced by thoughtfully integrated food and beverage outlets, illuminated tunnels and themed signage, creating a fully immersive environment designed to deliver a memorable seasonal adventure.
With conservation at the heart of Port Lympne’s mission, animal welfare will continue to be a central priority. LCI will continue to work closely with Port Lympne’s animal handlers to ensure every installation, lighting effect and audio element is placed with minimal disruption to the animals’ routines.
Tony Kelly, Managing Director at Port Lympne says:
“After the success of last year, it made sense to work with LCI again and continue building on our fantastic partnership. We wanted to create a seasonal family experience that guests would want to return to year after year, and we think we’ve achieved just that.
This year’s trail is even bigger and more immersive, with a longer route, more interactive elements and increased opportunities for guests to engage and take part in the experience. We’re delighted with how it has evolved and look forward to welcoming visitors back to the safari park once again.”
Rob Paul, Design Director at LCI Productions adds:
“Delivering a trail of this scale in an active safari environment brings unique logistical challenges, from working sensitively around the animals to operating across such varied terrain. The Port Lympne team have been exceptional partners throughout and we’re really looking forward to working with them again to deliver this magical experience. Their knowledge of the site, commitment to animal welfare and collaborative spirit have been invaluable in bringing this project to life. Together, we have created something truly special. We can’t wait for the public to see it.” To find out more information and to book tickets, visit: portlympneilluminated.com
