Projection Mapping
The project
Annabel’s Members Club in Berkeley Square commissioned LCI Productions to create a projection-mapped art feature on the central tree (plus surrounding trees) in “The Garden Room” – a space with a curved retractable roof. The installation was meant to delight guests with a magical centrepiece of fairies, butterflies, dragonflies, and hummingbirds flying from branch to branch, and swirling textures wrapping around the canopy. It was launched during the Vogue Fashion and Film Party on February 18th, following a major refurbishment.

The challenge
The timeline was extremely tight: LCI was commissioned only two weeks before the intended launch date. Additional challenges included scanning the living tree with photogrammetry, selecting and testing projectors on site, craning in the tree, and ensuring content updates could be made remotely. Also, getting everything installed before the club opened meant working under very strict access constraints.

The solution
LCI 3D-scanned the central tree using photogrammetry to build accurate content. They conducted projection tests on site with different projectors, then implemented the final scheme using ten projectors, a media server, media players, and show control systems. The team created animated content fairies, butterflies, dragonflies & hummingbirds, as well as dynamic light textures and patterns that wrap around branches and canopy. They delivered content updates remotely, replaced the living tree for reopening, and worked quickly under tight access and install constraints.

The impact
Guests entering “The Garden Room” are treated first to textured lighting on smaller trees, then experience the stunning main tree installation while dining or enjoying drinks. The feature has become a mesmerising centrepiece, offering a unique, immersive visual experience for members.
