BFG Movie Premiere AR Projection

The project

Heart Productions brought us in to create a standout moment for the premiere party of The BFG. Their idea: bring Roald Dahl’s legendary “Frobscottle” to life in a way that felt magical, unexpected, and totally on brand for the film’s world.

The challenge

In the book, a Frobscottle is a giant bottle of fizzy pop where the bubbles don’t rise… they sink.

Recreating that effect in a physical environment meant we needed something immersive and eye-catching that guests could instantly recognise while still feeling whimsical and impossible.

The solution

We built a custom 360 projection mapped installation around a physical Frobscottle model. The downward drifting bubbles were animated and wrapped precisely onto the bottle using full surround projection mapping, creating the illusion of a living, breathing, gravity defying prop straight out of the story.

The impact

Guests loved it, and even Steven Spielberg himself stopped to call the piece “amazing”.

The installation proved how flexible projection mapping can be, transforming anything from a small object to an entire building into something theatrical.
