3D PROJECTION MAPPING

Boscombe Highstreet

First permanently installed 3D projection mapping on a UK high street!

Get ready to experience retailtainment at its finest!

Boscombe high street in East Bournemouth has become home to the UKs first permanently installed outdoor 3D projection mapped show. The show spectacular plays every day until 8pm and will update throughout the year to keep guests returning to see the next instalments.

We designed and delivered the 18 metre x 11 metre projection mapping onto the buildings opposite the Sovereign Shopping Centre at the heart of the high street. We installed the projector in an upstairs space opposite to ensure it doesn’t get knocked out of alignment and to keep it safe from changeable weather conditions.

A Show Control Computer and media player give us remote dial in capabilities so that we can ensure the show runs smoothly every evening and make updates when required. Eight outdoor speakers surround the projection mapped canvas to create a full multisensory experience for guests.

The initiative has been launched by Bournemouth Coastal BID, in partnership with Bournemouth Towns Fund as part of its mission to increase the number of people visiting Bournemouth off-season, persuade them to stay longer and encourage visitors and local people to explore more of the coastal strip.

Show Production

We created the show content which launched with a ‘Love Boscombe’ theme for Valentine’s Day.

The 3D content floats above the surface to include hearts moving across the screen, pulsating, spinning and circling around the building, images that represent the Boscombe sea front and artwork from local residents that comes to life.

Futureproofed Experiences

The experience has been futureproofed and designed so that the content and show can regularly be updated. There are different shows planned throughout the year and live sport can also be streamed, creating the ultimate immersive viewing experience onto the side of the building.

This has created a multifunctional space and will encourage people to revisit throughout the year.
