Light Trail Experience
The project
Reindeer Lodge in Mold, Wales, was transformed for Christmas 2024 into a whole new immersive world. For the first time, the event has evolved from a driving trail into a walkthrough light trail experience, inviting visitors to explore “a Magical Land where Reindeer and Elves live hand in hand.”
With reindeer experiences and talks remaining a cherished feature, this new format expands on the magic, offering a fresh and enchanting way to celebrate the festive season.
The challenge
Since the experience has been so previously loved we needed to deliver an experience adaptive of the original drive-through and ensure it utilised the space given.
The solution
We were commissioned to curate a series of experiences within the magical woodland walk and lakeside lighting trail that would span the size of the park.
Reindeer Land Water Show
This included the standout water screen projection show on the lake in Reindeer Land. This mesmerising display includes festive scenes such as Father Christmas sweeping in on his sleigh, dancing gingerbread men and animated reindeer in a 3 minute show. We designed and delivered the full projection-mapped show. From specifying and installing the physical water screen. To creating original content that brings these moments to life and seamlessly integrates with the Christmas atmosphere.
Fairy Forest Holograms
The Fairy Forest is another highlight of the trail, where eight hologram fairies guide visitors along the path. Each fairy encourages people to move on to the next spectacle, creating a sense of wonder and anticipation. All fairy content was designed and created by our in-house creative team. With audio inspired by classic fairy tales, enhancing the immersive quality of the experience.
The impact
This year’s transformation of the Reindeer Lodge Christmas lights trial successfully blends festive elements with innovative technology. The walkthrough format offers visitors a new way to engage with the event and make lasting memories with family and friends.
