The project
LCI brought the wow to one of Europe’s premier cultural venues with a dynamic fountain installation at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, Greece. Designed in harmony with the Renzo Piano Building Workshop’s architecture, the 12,000-square-meter seawater Canal now hosts a mesmerizing show of light, sound, and motion – officially launched with a live performance from the Greek National Opera Orchestra in front of 18,000 attendees.

The challenge
The SNFCC isn’t just any public space – it’s a modern landmark with high expectations for sustainability, visual cohesion, and global prestige. The challenge? Integrate a high-impact, multimedia fountain system that enhances the park’s aesthetic, respects its eco-conscious design, and can perform day and night, all year round.

The solution
Our team installed a world-class water show featuring:
- 59 vertical water jets perfectly aligned with the SNFCC Canal’s linear form
- 10 dual-axis robotic moving jets for dynamic choreography
A fully choreographed light, sound, and fountain display designed to adapt to seasons and events - Custom show programming synced to music, designed to captivate both daytime visitors and nighttime audiences

Built for both elegance and drama, the system is fully integrated into the existing seawater Canal and reflects the SNFCC’s vision of fluid, interactive public art. We also handle ongoing system maintenance and upgrades to keep performances flawless and energy-efficient.
The impact
The installation instantly elevated the SNFCC’s visitor experience, becoming a core attraction that draws locals and tourists alike. Its seamless blend of culture, technology, and sustainability makes it a benchmark for modern public space design. With year-round adaptability and low environmental impact, the fountains support the SNFCC’s mission to remain a vibrant, self-sufficient, and forward-thinking cultural hub.
