3D VIDEO MAPPED PROJECTIONS FOR BACKDROP AT SPECIAL EVENT

To commemorate the beginning of World War One, LCI were commissioned by The Lowry to provide projection mapping as part of large-scale multimedia show with live performance.

The show was created by international and local artists as well as the LCI studio for a one-night event, Honour.

The production also included contemporary dance, innovative audio theatre and specially written music. The event was in honour of soldiers and civilians from Manchester and Salford, and immersed the audience in a stirring atmosphere, in a hail of fireworks, poetry and song.

The content for the projection mapping was created by international artists as well as the LCI studio. Each section was allocated to a different artist. LCI’s Creative Director Andrew Day was responsible for the dramatic ‘Attack’ sequence featuring a montage of visual effects and film footage provided by the Imperial War Museum, manipulated, and overlaid with striking graphic shapes and images.

The event took place at Salford Quays, in the piazza in front of MediaCity.
